Masks Contribute to Customer and Staff Safety

Today the state mask mandate no longer exists. However, the governor gives individual store owners the opportunity to choose whether to require staff and customers to wear masks within their stores.  I, with the input from my staff, have decided that Morgan Fitzgerald’s store policy will continue to require masks until a greater percentage of people are vaccinated and the number of cases significantly decrease.

Approximately ten percent of the population statewide has been vaccinated.  Only fifty percent of my staff has qualified to be fully vaccinated and have done so.  That leaves both staff and customers vulnerable.  Many of us have known friends and relatives who have had Covid 19.  We watched them suffer not only during the initial phase of the disease, but also endure side effects, long after recovery.  Sadly, many of us have also had friends and relatives die.

Some of my clients have compromised immune systems, some are elderly.  I simply can not in good conscious expose them to the disease.  My hope is that those who have already had their vaccinations, or those of you who find masks uncomfortable will continue to wear masks in our store for the sake of those who need you to.

We will continue to diligently disinfect surfaces, socially distance, and wear our masks while offering the best service we can.  Curbside service, and mail order will continue to be available.  We are encouraged that progress is being made in the battle against Covid 19 and look forward to a much more “normal” environment as we move forward.  I deeply appreciate your support during the entire Covid pandemic.
